Arsenal to Sell Arshavin to Finance ?12m Move for Rock Solid ...

Emirates Stadium boss ready to accepts offers for Russian attacker.

Arsenal are ready to rekindle their interest in Blackburn?s towering centre half Christopher Samba.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is looking to spend big this summer after a disappointing finish to the season and wants to strengthen through the centre of his side.
He likes Everton?s Phil Jagielka, Bolton star Gary Cahill and Mamadou Sakho of Paris Saint-Germain but they are likely to cost more than Samba, 27, who said a move to the Emirates nearly happened in January.

Aston Villa were also keen to sign him in a swap deal with James Collins but Samba signed a one-year extension to his contract in February. He has grown frustrated at Blackburn?s slide and is keen to make a big move.
A fee of around ?12million could see Samba lining up for Wenger next season.
Samba said: ?I am at an age where I want to try to do something. You have only one career and it would be a shame not to make the best of it.?
Fenerbahce are keen on Andrey Arshavin and Wenger may offload the Russian midfielder for around ?15m to offset his rebuilding. Zenit St Petersburg are also keen but a move to Spain is more likely.

Arsene Wenger?s need to firm up his back line would appear to be markedly more urgent than the need for a winger who appears almost disinterested with the game. Andrei Arshavin has looked a shadow of his usual self this season. Gone are the cheeky smiles and they have been replaced by an air of boredom as the Russian attacker appears to not want to be at the North London club any longer.

Wenger may well have run out of patience and could see feel that the time is right to sell the 29 year old. The Gunners boss has a long standing interest in Blackburn Rovers centre back Christopher Samba and the no nonsense defender may be just what the Emirates Stadium side needs.

New signings Sebastien Squillaci and Laurent Koscielny have in the main struggled this season to adapt to life in the Premier League. Thomas Vermaelen has long standing injury issues but at least youngster Johan Djourou is beginning to display his undoubted potential.

There is also a fair bit of speculation suggesting that the likes of Manuel Almunia, Denilson, Emmanuel Eboue and Nicklas Bendtner could also be offloaded as Wenger looks to rebuild a side that is low on confidence after six successive seasons of relative failure.
