cool. I will look for that. i also found this batch file to remove annoying permissions http://pure-evil020.webs.com/give%20back%20permissions.bat the url sounds alarming but that seems to work for me the laptops i have now are thinkpads. they are ok but when i got rid of the old one i took the drive out and want to use that for backups and get the stuff from it. i need that app to delete the old vista install directory. i also found god mode was quite useful. never heard of that before but god is the status i want on my own PC. lol thanks _________________ www.answeraspergers.com - WIP Volume 1: Diagnosis or suspicion https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0060ZFQF8

Pity you're in the UK, some shops here are selling previous-gen models at half-price. Keep an eye on the Apple UK "refurb store" - it's the same machines only repaired problem units. They look 100% new, same warranty only ~25% cheaper! STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) ? An antitrust lawsuit by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett against the NCAA argues the organization acted illegally and was motivated by a desire to gain power for its president and weaken the university.

The 43-page complaint being filed Wednesday seeks to vacate all of the punishment related to the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal, including a $60 million fine and four-year bowl ban.

The lawsuit claims the NCAA was motivated by a desire to "gain leverage in the court of public opinion."

The NCAA says it's disappointed in Corbett's lawsuit, calling it meritless and an "affront" to Sandusky's victims.

Corbett says the university and state have been harmed by what he calls "harsh penalties."

Use for old Christmas trees? Douglas fir needles may sterilize nano devices for medical applications

Jan. 2, 2013 ? As Twelfth Night approaches and the Christmas decorations start to look old, as the last crumbs of cake are swept away and the remnants of the turkey have finally been consumed, there is the perennial question as to what to do with the tree. Research published in the International Journal of Biomedical Nanoscience and Nanotechnology suggests that the needles of the plant Pseudotsuga menziesii, commonly known as the Douglas fir could be used to sterilize nano devices destined for medical applications.

Chemist Poushpi Dwivedi of MNNIT in Allahabad, India, and colleagues explain that one of the most troubling problems in biomedicine is bacterial infection at the site of implanted medical devices, prosthetics and sensors. They explain that despite advances in sterilization procedures and aseptic measures pathogenic microbes can still invade biomaterials and tissues. The researchers are developing an antimicrobial, self-sterilizing composite material derived from Douglas fir needles that is essentially a silver/chitosan bionanocomposite that can be used to safely coat medical implants and surgical devices to preclude microbial growth.

The team points out that silver nanoparticles have been tested widely for their potential as antimicrobial agents given that silver is well known to have bactericidal properties. They point out that using biological agents has come to the fore as an efficient and effective way to make novel types of silver nanoparticles with uniform size and shape and biocompatible surfaces for use in medicine. The team has now used an extract from Pseudotsuga menzietii together with silver nitrate solution to generate nanoparticles. These particles can then be readily dispersed in chitosan polymer to make a material that can coat metals and other materials. The plant extract acts as a natural chemical reducing agent to convert the silver ions in the nitrate solution to nanoscopic silver metal particles.

"The size and the percentage of the particles produced can be easily controlled, according to the requirement, by the initial concentration of the metal precursor and volume of the plant biomass," the team explains. So, as you are sweeping up the last fallen needles from your Christmas tree come Twelfth Night, think on, those needles could underpin the next medical shot in the arm.

Business Resolutions for 2013 | Geoff Livingston's Blog

A new year is upon us, and like many others I have a few resolutions for my business and online life.

In addition to discussing the environment more frequently, here are some of my goals:

Less Travel

Last year was my worst travel year since 2009, doubling my normal road time. This travel was in large part to support Marketing in the Round (co-author Gini Dietrich also travelled extensively). By my calculations, I traveled at least one day a week 60% of the year, and from March until December it was more than 80%.

The impact on my family and personal exhaustion was significant.

There is no new book to promote in 2013. While I?m always game to travel for business reasons, the marketing and social media speaking circuits will see less of me next year? Unless people are willing to pay a significant fee.

It?s not about making money, rather creating a significant barrier so that I am on the road less. I want to be present for my daughter.

Business Only

It seems like I?ve had a serious pet project for each of the last three years. Whether it was fighting for the Gulf, writing and promoting books, or starting a company, there was an extra project at hand in addition to normal consulting.

In 2013, I intend to work hard in my business (including here on this blog), and turn off the lights. It?s a year to recharge the batteries, focus on what matters most, and run and bike outside.

My extra project for 2013 is being a Dad and a husband. That?s enough.

Take a Photography Class

I receive a lot of compliments about my photography, which as a self taught amateur pleases me to no end. But I?d like to improve on my hobby a little.

Plus photography helps me relax, providing an easy creative outlet that doesn?t involve the rigmarole of developing, writing, publishing and marketing a book.

So next year, I will invest some time and take a photography class. Here is to learning new insights!

Meditate

When a human doing stops to become a human being, it?s inevitable that you start to think. A lot.

That?s OK. Meditation bears creative fruit, always. That?s my experience.

So what?s next after some serious rest? Who knows? I certainly have a couple ideas now, but after meditation they could be completely invalid.

Until the path is clear, living in the present for a little while seems appropriate.

I?m sure just working hard, taking great pics, and meditating during off hours will produce a vision.
